Frequently asked questions
Is the EGR delete worth it on a 6.7 powerstroke?
Overall, deleting the EGR and DPF systems can provide many benefits for your 6.7 Powerstroke engine. Not only can it increase power and torque, but it can also improve fuel efficiency, enhance engine longevity, and improve engine sound.
Is EGR delete bad for the engine?
One of the main benefits of an EGR delete is improved performance. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation system is known to cause carbon buildup in the intake manifold and reduce airflow to the engine. Deleting the EGR system reduces carbon buildup and improves airflow to the engine.
Will EGR delete cause smoke?
Removing the EGR will not cause black smoke but it won't improve the situation either. Originally Answered: Will EGR delete cause black smoke? Not normally or directly.
Does EGR reduce horsepower?
First, the EGR works with other systems so that an EGR delete can result in reduced horsepower. When an EGR delete works properly, it increases the oxygen density in the engine. That means a boost in horsepower. However, it is essential to consider how much of an increase you get.
